Mexican-British writer and performer based in Leicester,
constantly experimenting with the possibilities of spoken word.
International, intersectional and interdisciplinary.
Using poetry to convey everyday realities that may remain untold in media; particularly about feminist and queer issues, cultural and countercultural shock, mental health and self-preservation.
As a spoken word performer, they have opened for renowned artists such as Lydia Towsey, Caroline Bird, Travis Alabanza and Jamie Thrasivolou. They have also been published on zines such as Mouthy Poets Queer Zine and Black Flamingo edited by Dean Atta (the latter in collaborations with Tate Britain) and the anti-xenophobia Do Something edited by Selina Lock. Two of their poems were featured in Welcome to Leicester, anthology edited by Emma Lee and Ambrose Musiyiwa for Dahlia Publishing.
Co-founder and host at INTRSKTR, Leicester’s first intersectional feminist group, showcasing the talents of members of the community and People of Colour. Co-organiser of DIY Queer Punk Festival Glitterfest in September 2017.
Singer and songwriter in queer noise band ANATOMY. Currently working in several projects involving poetry, music and visual arts using artefacts such as vocal FX pedals and loops.
